OPEN 07: MARGINS

Exhibition on the theme MARGINS selected from open submission. A fascinating mix of photography, installation, sculpture, textiles and painting.

The 'Game Boy' is one of a number of paintings made in preparation for a larger work. This is a daily sight and strikes me as being a cultural phenomenon worthy of a painting. The books were added at a later stage to correct the perspective. Their 'meaning' is therefore entirely serendipitous. As for the indecorous cat, it is a homage to Manet's arched feline from his painting 'Olympia'.
