'Paint' is both my subject and medium. I work in an intensely physical way with oil, hammerite, and enamel paints, on board or canvas. I obliterate a surface, building up marks and layers with paint. Gradually, with intense effort, the painting represents the memory of the emotions and thoughts I experienced, whilst painting it.
