By mixing the syntax of scientific illustration from different eras of print, common assumptions about universal methods of knowledge transfer and perception are questioned. The Distillate series explores visually and technically the paradox between the scientifically rational analysis of colour and the almost alchemical result of its intuitive use by the artist.
