Nick Durnan
A fusion of the double helix geometry of the DNA molecule with a painted and gilded Baroque colour scheme inspired by the eighteenth century decoration of the facade of Smolnyy Cathedral in St Petersburg. Carved in a single piece of Portland limestone, painted with Lascaux Studio acrylic and oil gilded with 23ct gold leaf.
