Engaging with Frink
Monday 10 March 2008
(additional date may be arranged please contact us for details)
A one day seminar for artists

Using the works in the current exhibition at Sherborne house ‘Elisabeth Frink - Works from the Archive’ as a starting point ‘Engaging with Frink’ will offer a stimulating series of talks and discussions exploring the relevance of Elisabeth Frink to contemporary artists.

The day is aimed at professional artists from all disciplines. It will investigate Frinks methods and techniques and ask the questions; why figuration, why sculpture, why politics? It will contextualise her work in relation to the world events which influenced her, the abstraction adopted by her peers and her role as muse and inspiration for two contemporary practising artists. The day will also include a fascinating insight into Frink the artist by her son Lin Jammet. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion and debate both around Frinks work but also in general around the issues of thinking and working in 2D and 3D.
